  • 1. Prep Your Steaks: About 30 minutes before you plan to cook, take your filet mignon steaks out of the refrigerator. Pat them thoroughly dry with paper towels. Season all sides generously with sea salt and a little fresh black pepper. Let them sit at room temperature.
  • 2. Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes to ensure it's nice and hot.
  • 3. Air Fry to Perfection: Place the seasoned steaks in a single layer in your air fryer basket. Air fry them at 400°F (200°C) for 10-15 minutes. Cooking time will vary based on your desired doneness and the thickness of your steaks (for a 2-inch thick steak, 13 minutes typically yields medium-well).
  • 4. Check Doneness: Use an instant-read meat thermometer inserted halfway into the center of the steak to check its internal temperature. Remember to pull the steaks from the air fryer when they are about 10 degrees below your target doneness, as they will continue to cook as they rest.
  • 5. Rest and Enjoy: Once cooked, remove the steaks and let them rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving. This allows the juices to redistribute, ensuring a tender, flavorful bite!
