Air Fryer Stuffed Mushrooms

Delicious and easy-to-make stuffed mushrooms cooked to perfection in your air fryer. A healthy and low-carb snack or appetizer. They are perfect for any occasion!

Ingredients
  

  • 9 large portobello stuffing mushrooms (or 12 baby bellas)
  • 1/3 pound ground Italian sausage
  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 2/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese (reserve a little for topping)
  • 1 garlic clove grated
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • red pepper flakes Optional: pinch of
  • Olive oil (for brushing)

Instructions
 

  • Start by browning your Italian sausage in a skillet over medium heat. Once it's cooked through, drain any extra fat and move the sausage to a large mixing bowl.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 370°F (185°C) for 5 minutes while you prepare the delicious stuffing.
  • Add the softened cream cheese, grated garlic, garlic salt, black pepper, fresh parsley, and most of the Parmesan cheese (save a tiny bit for garnish if you like!) into the bowl with the cooked sausage. If you enjoy a little kick, add the red pepper flakes now.
  • Mix everything together thoroughly until you have a well-combined, creamy stuffing mixture. Set it aside.
  • Carefully remove the stems from the mushrooms and gently clean the caps with a damp paper towel (it's best not to wash them directly under water). Lightly brush the outsides of each mushroom cap with a little olive oil.
  • Spoon the flavorful stuffing mixture into each mushroom cap. Make sure not to overstuff them, or they might ooze out in the air fryer.
  • Arrange the stuffed mushrooms in your preheated air fryer basket. Cook for 9-11 minutes, or until the tops are slightly golden and the mushrooms are tender. Keep an eye on smaller mushrooms, as they might be ready in 6-8 minutes.
  • Let them cool for a moment before serving, then enjoy your healthy and easy Air Fryer Stuffed Mushrooms!

Notes
