Ingredients
  

For the Turkey Burgers

  • 1.5 lbs lean ground turkey
  • 1/3 cup sweet bell peppers finely chopped
  • 1/3 cup green onions chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce or coconut aminos for gluten-free
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt

For the Broccoli Slaw

  • 12 oz pre-shredded broccoli slaw mix
  • 1 tsp low-sodium soy sauce or coconut aminos
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger grated
  • 1 tsp fresh garlic minced
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
  • 2 tsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt

Instructions
 

  • Preheat a large frying pan or skillet over medium heat. In a mixing bowl, gently combine all the turkey burger ingredients (ground turkey, chopped sweet peppers, green onions, garlic powder, ground ginger, 1 tbsp soy sauce, and 1/2 tsp salt) until just mixed – be careful not to overmix!
  • Form the mixture into 6 even patties. Lightly coat your pan with cooking spray. Carefully place the turkey burgers in the pan and cook until they are thoroughly cooked through, reaching an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C) on a meat thermometer. This usually takes about 5-7 minutes per side.
  • While your burgers are cooking, prepare the refreshing broccoli slaw. In a separate bowl, combine all the broccoli slaw ingredients (broccoli slaw mix, 1 tsp soy sauce, grated ginger, minced garlic, sesame oil, olive oil, apple cider vinegar, and 1/2 tsp salt). Toss everything together really well until the slaw is evenly coated with the dressing.
  • Once your flavorful turkey burgers are ready, serve them hot with a generous side of the crisp broccoli slaw. Enjoy your healthy and delicious meal!
