Brownie Batter
- 12 tbsp butter cut into pieces
- 3/4 cup natural cocoa powder
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs plus 1 large egg yolk, lightly beaten
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 1/2 tsp salt
Frosting
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
- 1/3 cup heavy cream
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp candy-coated chips
Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a 13x9-inch pan with parchment paper.
Melt butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Stir in cocoa powder until smooth.
Add both sugars and mix well. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, and salt. Gradually stir into the wet mixture until just combined.
Spread batter evenly in the prepared pan. Bake for 16–18 minutes (until a toothpick comes out with fudgy crumbs). Cool completely.
Frosting: In a saucepan over low heat, melt both chocolate chips with heavy cream, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla and salt. Let cool 5–10 minutes.
Pour frosting over cooled brownies and spread evenly. Immediately sprinkle candy-coated chips on top. Let frosting set before cutting.
