Caramel Sauce

This rich, creamy caramel sauce is a delightful treat!

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream 120 ml
  • 1 cup granulated sugar 200 grams
  • 5 tbsp unsalted butter 85 grams
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions
 

  • Warm the heavy cream in the microwave or a saucepan, then set aside.
  • In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, add the sugar and heat over medium, stirring constantly until melted and golden.
  • If it darkens too quickly, remove from heat and stir until fully melted.
  • Once melted, add the butter carefully, stirring until it melts.
  • Gradually mix in the heavy cream while stirring continuously, being cautious of bubbling.
  • Cook on low heat until smooth and deep amber in color.
  • Remove from heat, stir in salt and vanilla, and let cool to room temperature.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
