Instructions
Warm the heavy cream in the microwave or a saucepan, then set aside.
In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, add the sugar and heat over medium, stirring constantly until melted and golden.
If it darkens too quickly, remove from heat and stir until fully melted.
Once melted, add the butter carefully, stirring until it melts.
Gradually mix in the heavy cream while stirring continuously, being cautious of bubbling.
Cook on low heat until smooth and deep amber in color.
Remove from heat, stir in salt and vanilla, and let cool to room temperature.
Notes
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
