Instructions
 

  • Simple Oreo Crust:

    First, carefully twist apart 20-25 Oreos and scrape out most of the cream filling. Don't worry about being perfect!
  • Next, crush the cookie halves into fine crumbs. The easiest way is in a food processor, or you can place them in a Ziploc bag and crush them with a rolling pin or meat mallet until they're like fine dust.
  • Combine the crushed Oreo crumbs with the 6 tablespoons of melted butter. Mix well until everything is evenly coated and the crumbs stick together when pressed. If it seems too dry, add a tiny bit more melted butter.
  • Firmly press this buttery cookie mixture into the bottom of an 8x8-inch baking dish to form an even crust. Pop it into the freezer for 10 minutes to chill and set while you prepare the next layer.
  • Creamy Chocolate Pudding Layer:

    Prepare the instant chocolate pudding mix according to the package directions, but use only half the amount of milk recommended (usually 1 cup of milk for a standard box). This makes it extra thick and rich.

    In a medium bowl, combine your softened cream cheese, the extra 2 tablespoons of milk, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Use a hand mixer to beat until the mixture is wonderfully smooth and creamy.
