Equipment

  • 10-inch springform pan
  • Large mixing bowl
  • Electric Mixer

Ingredients

Brownie Base

  • 16-18 ounces brownie mix (with or without nuts)
  • 0.25 cup water
  • 0.33 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs

Marshmallow Layer

  • 2 cups mini marshmallows

Silky Frosting

  • 0.25 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 0.25 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.375 cup milk (¼ cup plus 2 tablespoons), divided
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  • Get Ready to Bake! First, preheat your oven to a cozy 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 10-inch springform pan – this makes serving a breeze later!
  • Whip Up the Brownie Base. In a large mixing bowl, effortlessly combine the brownie mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs. Stir gently by hand for about 50 strokes, just until the larger lumps disappear. No need to overmix; simple is best!
  • Bake to Perfection. Pour your brownie batter into the prepared pan. Slide it into the preheated oven and let it bake for approximately 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick poked into the center comes out clean.
  • Add the Gooey Marshmallow Layer. Once your brownie is baked, carefully remove the pan from the oven. Generously sprinkle the mini marshmallows evenly over the warm brownie. Return the pan to the oven for just 4-5 more minutes, watching as the marshmallows puff up and get wonderfully melty.
  • Craft the Silky Frosting. While the marshmallows are melting, it's time for the frosting! Sift together the cocoa powder and powdered sugar into a small mixing bowl for a super smooth finish. Add the melted butter and ¼ cup of milk, then beat with an electric mixer until it's perfectly smooth. If it seems too thick to pour, add the remaining milk (the remaining 2 tablespoons), one tablespoon at a time, until it reaches a pourable but not watery consistency.
  • Crown Your Pie! Take the pan out of the oven once more. Gently spoon the smooth chocolate frosting over the melted marshmallows, spreading it evenly with your spoon to cover the entire surface.
  • Cool, Slice, and Enjoy! Let your beautiful pie cool completely. Once chilled, run a knife along the edges and carefully remove the side of the springform pan. Now, slice into generous portions and savor this delightful, easy-to-make dessert!
