Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 12 ounces dark chocolate chips
  • Saltine crackers enough to line a 9x13 inch baking pan

Instructions
 

  • Get Ready: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a 9x13 inch baking pan with non-stick foil for easy cleanup.
  • Cracker Base: Arrange a single layer of saltine crackers at the bottom of the prepared pan.
  • Sweet Toffee Magic: In a medium saucepan, combine the unsalted butter and dark brown sugar. Bring this mixture to a rolling boil over medium heat, stirring continuously for exactly 3 minutes. This creates the delicious toffee base!
  • Pour & Bake: Carefully pour the hot toffee mixture evenly over the crackers in the pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 7 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  • Chocolate Finish: Remove the pan from the oven. Immediately sprinkle the dark chocolate chips over the hot cracker base. Let them sit for a minute to melt slightly, then gently spread the melted chocolate evenly with a spatula.
  • Chill & Break: Pop the pan into the refrigerator to cool completely, about 30-60 minutes, until firm. Once chilled, break the bark into irregular pieces and enjoy your delightful, homemade treat!
