Liquid measuring cup
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 2 cups hot water
- 3 teaspoons low-sodium beef broth concentrate
- 2 teaspoons low-sodium chicken broth concentrate
- 3/4 teaspoon xanthan gum see notes in source for alternatives if needed
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder or onion powder (optional)
Combine the hot water with the beef and chicken broth concentrates in a liquid measuring cup. Stir until well mixed, creating a rich broth base for your gravy, then set it aside.
Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Once it’s melted, whisk in the xanthan gum. This smart step helps prevent clumps and ensures your gravy will be wonderfully smooth. The xanthan gum will dissolve into the butter.
Slowly pour the prepared broth mixture into the melted butter, whisking continuously to combine. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer gently for just a couple of minutes.
Remove the saucepan from the heat. Season your delicious keto gravy with salt and pepper to taste, adding the optional garlic or onion powder if desired. As it cools, your healthy gravy will naturally thicken to a perfect consistency!
See source for alternatives to xanthan gum if needed.
