  • 1 cup salted butter softened to room temperature
  • 2 pounds powdered sugar about 8 cups
  • 6 tablespoons maraschino cherry juice from the jar, plus more if needed for consistency
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract

  • Begin by beating your softened butter in a large mixing bowl until it's wonderfully smooth and fluffy.
  • Gradually add about 2 cups of the powdered sugar, beating until it's well combined with the butter.
  • Pour in the vibrant maraschino cherry juice and the almond extract, mixing thoroughly until everything is beautifully blended and the frosting takes on a lovely pink hue.
  • Continue to add the remaining powdered sugar, about 1 cup at a time, beating well after each addition until your frosting reaches your desired smooth consistency.
  • If the frosting feels a bit too thick, simply beat in an extra teaspoon of maraschino cherry juice at a time until it's perfectly spreadable – this will also enhance its natural pink color!
