Ingredients

  • 1 pound grass-fed ground beef (85% lean)
  • 1/3 cup diced onion
  • 3/4 cup beef broth
  • 1 chopped smoked chipotle pepper (from a can)
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef, garlic sea salt, and black pepper. Cook, breaking up the meat, until it's nicely browned.
  • Gently push the browned meat to one side of the pan. Add the olive oil and diced onion to the empty side, along with a tiny pinch of salt. Sauté until the onion becomes soft and clear.
  • Sprinkle the smoked paprika, cumin, and chopped chipotle pepper over the meat and onions. Stir and cook for about 1-2 minutes to let the flavors bloom. Then, stir in the tomato paste and beef broth. Mix everything thoroughly and let it gently simmer for 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld beautifully.
