Equipment

  • Large Bowl
  • Microwave-safe Bowl or Double Boiler
  • Rubber Spatula or Wooden Spoon
  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment Paper

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Gluten-Free Chex Mix
  • 2 cups Air-Popped Popcorn
  • 2 cups Gluten-Free Pretzels (twists or sticks)
  • 1/2 cup Dry Roasted Peanuts (salted or unsalted, omit for allergies)
  • 9 ounces Dairy-Free White Chocolate Chips
  • 1 Tablespoon Refined Coconut Oil (for a smooth coating without coconut flavor)
  • Christmas Sprinkles (for a festive touch)

Instructions

  • Combine the Dry Mix: In a large bowl, gently mix the gluten-free Chex cereal, freshly popped popcorn, pretzels, and peanuts.
  • Melt the Chocolate: In a separate microwave-safe bowl or using a double boiler, melt the white chocolate chips with the coconut oil until smooth and creamy. Stir until completely dissolved.
  • Coat the Mixture: Pour the warm, melted white chocolate over the dry ingredients in the large bowl. Stir carefully with a rubber spatula or wooden spoon until all pieces are evenly coated. Be sure to reach the bottom!
  • Add Festive Flair: Gently fold in your colorful Christmas sprinkles and any other fun add-ins you desire (like crushed candy canes!). Avoid overmixing, especially with the warm chocolate, to keep sprinkles vibrant.
  • Chill to Set: Spread the coated mixture evenly onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Place it in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or until the chocolate has completely set and hardened.
  • Break and Enjoy: Once firm, break the reindeer chow into bite-sized clusters. Serve immediately or store for a delightful holiday treat!
