French Toast Roll-Ups

Ingredients
  

  • 8 slices white sandwich bread
  • softened cream cheese (or diced strawberries, or Nutella)
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 heaping teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • butter (for greasing the pan)

Instructions
 

  • Trim the crusts from each bread slice and flatten with a rolling pin.
  • Spread 1-2 teaspoons of your preferred filling about an inch from one end, then roll the bread tightly. Repeat for all slices.
  • Whisk the eggs and milk together in a shallow bowl.
  • In another bowl, combine sugar and cinnamon.
  • Heat a skillet over medium heat and melt a tablespoon of butter.
  • Dip each roll in the egg mixture, ensuring it's well coated, then place seam side down in the pan.
  • Cook until golden brown, about 2 minutes per side, adding butter as needed.
  • Once cooked, roll the warm rolls in the cinnamon sugar mixture. Serve with syrup or enjoy plain!
