Ghost & Mummy Base
- 4 large fresh bananas not overly ripe
- 1 cup nonfat Greek vanilla yogurt
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar
- 16 popsicle sticks
Decorations
- to taste mini semi-sweet chocolate chips for eyes
- 1/3 cup creamy natural peanut butter for mummies only
Make the ghosts: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Peel 2 bananas and cut each in half crosswise, then slice each half lengthwise to get 4 long, narrow pieces per banana. Push a popsicle stick into the bottom of each piece and set them on the sheet.
Make the mummies: Cut the pointy tips off the 2 remaining bananas, then slice each into 3 equal round “logs.” Insert a popsicle stick into one end of each log and place on the sheet. Freeze all banana pops for at least 30 minutes.
Prepare the coating: In a small bowl, mix the yogurt and powdered sugar until smooth. Dip each banana into the yogurt mixture, letting excess drip off. Add 2 mini chocolate chips to each ghost for eyes. Freeze for at least 1 hour to set.
Decorate the mummies: Heat peanut butter in a microwave-safe bowl until runny (30–45 seconds). Drizzle over mummy pops to look like bandages. Press on mini chocolate chips for eyes. Freeze again for 30 minutes until firm.
