Equipment

  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment Paper
  • Pastry Brush

Ingredients

  • 8 fully cooked turkey or chicken hot dogs
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated low-fat crescent rolls
  • 1 large egg for egg wash
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 1 tsp Everything Bagel seasoning or sesame seeds

Instructions

  • Set your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  • Open the can of crescent rolls and carefully separate the dough along the perforated lines to form 8 triangles.
  • Place one hot dog at the wide end of a dough triangle. Roll the dough around the hot dog, ending with the point tucked underneath. Place it on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining hot dogs.
  • In a small bowl, whisk the egg and water together to make an egg wash. Lightly brush this mixture over the top of each rolled-up piggy.
  • Sprinkle the Everything Bagel seasoning or sesame seeds evenly over the egg-washed dough.
  • Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are puffed up and golden brown. Let them cool for 5 minutes before packing into lunchboxes.
