  • 24 ounces Dark Chocolate Chips or Melts good quality (about 4 cups)
  • 20 ounces White Chocolate Chips or Melts good quality (about 3 cups)
  • 1 tsp Peppermint Extract food-grade
  • 3 ounces Crushed Peppermint Candies or Candy Canes (about ½ cup)
  • 1.5 tsp Flaky Sea Salt

  • Prepare Your Sheet: Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper for easy removal of your delicious bark.
  • Melt the Dark Chocolate: Gently melt the dark chocolate chips or melts. You can do this in a microwave (heating in 30-second intervals, stirring well each time until smooth) or using a double boiler over simmering water.
  • Create the Base Layer: Pour the melted dark chocolate onto the prepared baking sheet and spread it evenly into a thin layer. Let it set slightly at room temperature for a few minutes while you prepare the next layer – this simple trick helps prevent the layers from separating.
  • Melt the White Chocolate: In a separate bowl, melt the white chocolate chips or melts using the same gentle method. Once smooth, stir in the peppermint extract for that festive kick.
  • Form the Top Layer: Carefully pour the melted white chocolate over the partially set dark chocolate layer. Spread it gently to cover the dark chocolate evenly.
  • Add Festive Toppings: Immediately sprinkle the crushed peppermint candies and flaky sea salt evenly over the still-wet white chocolate layer.
  • Chill and Enjoy: Let the bark set completely at room temperature or in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes until firm. Once firm, break or cut the bark into festive, bite-sized pieces.
