Ingredients
  

Filling

  • 3 ounces softened cream cheese
  • 3 ounces grated cheddar cheese
  • 1-2 minced jalapeño peppers adjust to your spice preference
  • 2 minced garlic cloves

Turkey Mixture

  • 2 pounds lean ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup almond flour for binding
  • 2 tablespoons finely minced onion
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1-2 tablespoons olive oil

Optional Topping

  • 6 slices crispy cooked bacon optional, for topping

Instructions
 

  • 1. Prepare the Filling: In a medium bowl, gently mash and mix together the softened cream cheese, grated cheddar, minced jalapeños, and garlic until it's well combined. Set this yummy mixture aside.
  • 2. Mix the Turkey: In a large bowl, combine the lean ground turkey with the almond flour, finely minced onion, salt, pepper, and cumin. Mix everything together thoroughly but gently to ensure even distribution without overworking the meat.
  • 3. Form & Stuff the Burgers (Choose your method!):
  • With a Burger Press (Easiest!): If you have a burger press, place a small circle of parchment paper on the bottom. Fill the press about halfway with the turkey mixture, then use the indent to create a pocket. Spoon in some of the cream cheese filling, being careful not to overfill. Cover the filling with a bit more turkey mixture, place another parchment circle on top, and use the flat press to seal the burger, making sure all edges are closed to prevent leaks.
  • By Hand: Divide the turkey mixture into 6 equal portions. For each portion, take about two-thirds and flatten it into a patty with a small well in the center. Spoon some of the cream cheese filling into the well. Use the remaining one-third of the turkey mixture to form a top layer, gently sealing the edges around the filling to create a neat, stuffed patty.
  • 4. Cook Your Burgers: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Lightly brush both sides of each burger with olive oil to prevent sticking. Grill for about 7-8 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) using an instant-read thermometer.
  • 5. Serve & Enjoy: Top each juicy burger with a slice of crispy bacon, if desired, and serve them hot on fresh lettuce wraps for a delicious, healthy, and satisfying meal!

Notes

Tip: You can also pan-fry or air fry them for similar results!
