Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • Instant-read thermometer

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 0.5 tsp onion powder
  • 0.5 tsp dried oregano
  • 0.5 tsp Kosher salt
  • pepper to taste (if desired)
  • 1 tbsp avocado oil or olive oil
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1 pound)

Instructions

  • Preheat Your Air Fryer: Get started by setting your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and letting it warm up for about 5 minutes while you prepare the chicken.
  • Season the Chicken: In a small bowl, combine the garlic powder, smoked paprika, onion powder, dried oregano, Kosher salt, and pepper. Lightly brush both sides of each chicken breast with the avocado or olive oil, then generously sprinkle the seasoning blend over them, making sure to coat evenly.
  • Air Fry to Perfection: Carefully place the seasoned chicken breasts in a single layer in your air fryer basket. Cook at 375°F (190°C) for 18-20 minutes, flipping them halfway through the cooking time to ensure even browning and juiciness.
  • Rest and Enjoy: The key to tender, juicy chicken is proper temperature and resting! Once an instant-read thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the chicken reads between 155-160°F (68-71°C), remove the chicken from the air fryer. Let it rest on a plate for 5-10 minutes; this "carryover cooking" will bring the internal temperature up to a safe 165°F (74°C) while keeping all those delicious juices locked in. Slice and serve your perfectly healthy air-fried chicken!
