  • 3 ounces cheddar cheese grated
  • 1 to 2 jalapeño peppers minced (adjust for your preferred spice level)

Flavorful Turkey Mixture

  • 2 lbs ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 2 tablespoons finely minced onion
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin

For Cooking and Serving

  • 1 to 2 olive oil tablespoons
  • 6 slices cooked crispy bacon

  • Step 1: Make the Creamy Popper Filling. In a medium bowl, gently combine the softened cream cheese, grated cheddar, minced jalapeños, and minced garlic. Use a fork or spatula to mash it all together until it's smooth and well mixed. Set this delicious filling aside for a moment.
  • Step 2: Prepare the Flavorful Turkey Mixture. Grab a large bowl and add the ground turkey, almond flour, finely minced onion, salt, black pepper, and cumin. Mix everything together carefully until it's just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep your burgers tender and juicy.
  • Step 3: Craft Your Stuffed Burgers.
    • For easy stuffing (recommended with a burger press): Line the bottom of your burger press with a piece of parchment paper. Fill the press about halfway with your turkey mixture. Place another parchment circle on top and use the press's indent tool to create a nice deep well. Remove the top parchment and the indent tool. Spoon some of your creamy jalapeño filling into the well (don't overfill!). Cover the filling with a little more turkey mixture, then put the parchment back on top. Use the flat part of the press to gently flatten and seal the burger, ensuring all the edges are closed to keep that yummy filling inside.
    • If stuffing by hand: Divide the turkey mixture into 6 equal portions. Take about two-thirds of one portion and form it into a patty with a hollow center. Spoon some filling into the hollow, then top it with the remaining one-third of the turkey mixture. Carefully shape it into a burger, pinching the sides firmly to completely seal the filling.
  • Step 4: Grill or Cook to Perfection. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Lightly brush both sides of your stuffed burgers with olive oil. Grill for about 7 to 8 minutes per side, or until the center of the burger reaches a safe internal temperature of 165°F (a quick-read thermometer is your best friend here!). You can also pan-fry or air fry these if you prefer.
  • Step 5: Garnish and Serve. Once cooked, top each hot burger with a slice of crispy bacon. Serve immediately, perhaps nestled in fresh lettuce wraps for a deliciously healthy and satisfying meal!
