Equipment

  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment Paper
  • Mixing Bowl

Ingredients

Dough Ingredients

  • 0.5 cup almond flour 2 oz.
  • 4 tbsp coconut flour
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2.5 oz butter
  • 6 oz shredded mozzarella cheese 1.5 cups
  • 1 large egg

Assembly

  • 1 lb uncured hot dogs or sausage links 4-8 count
  • 1 egg beaten for brushing
  • 16 whole cloves optional, for eyes

Instructions

  • Heat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a big bowl, stir together the almond flour, coconut flour, salt, and baking powder.
  • In a small pan over low heat, melt the butter and mozzarella together. Stir until smooth and stretchy, then take it off the heat.
  • Crack the first egg into the flour mix, then pour in the warm cheese mixture. Mix everything until a soft, firm dough forms.
  • Place the dough between two sheets of parchment paper and flatten it into a rectangle about 8x14 inches.
  • Cut the rectangle into 8 long strips (about 1 inch wide each).
  • Wrap one dough strip around each hot dog like a bandage, leaving a small gap for the "face."
  • Whisk the second egg and brush it over the wrapped dogs.
  • Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 15–20 minutes, until the dough is golden and puffy.
  • Stick two cloves into each dog for eyes (just for fun—don’t eat the cloves!).
