A perfect Labor Day treat! These crispy cauliflower nuggets are tossed in a sweet and spicy hot honey sauce for the ultimate crowd-pleasing appetizer.

Ingredients
  

Cauliflower Base

  • 1.5 lb cauliflower head cut into 2" florets
  • 2 tsp kosher salt divided

Breading & Coating

  • 2 cups panko bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup neutral oil
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup soy milk
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper freshly ground

Hot Honey Sauce

  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 4 Tbsp unsalted butter or plant-based butter
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • flaky sea salt for finishing

Instructions
 

  • Toss the cauliflower florets with 1 1/2 teaspoons of kosher salt in a large bowl and let them sit for 15 minutes.
  • Toss panko with oil; bake at 400°F until golden brown (4-6 mins).
  • Whisk flour, soy milk, remaining salt, garlic powder, paprika, and pepper into a batter.
  • Dip cauliflower into batter, roll in toasted panko, and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Bake for 25 to 35 minutes until crisp.
  • Simmer honey, butter, cayenne, garlic, and paprika in a pot until smooth. Cool slightly.
  • Drizzle sauce over nuggets, top with sea salt, and serve immediately.
