Equipment

  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment Paper
  • Small Bowl
  • Whisk
  • Knife or Pizza Cutter

Ingredients

  • 1 can light or whole wheat crescent roll dough (8 oz)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar feel free to reduce for less sweetness, or use a healthier alternative!
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • nutmeg or vanilla extract Optional: A pinch of nutmeg or a few drops of vanilla extract for extra warmth

Instructions

  • First things first, preheat your oven to a cozy 375°F (190°C). Gently unroll your crescent roll dough onto a clean, flat surface. If your dough isn't already pre-cut into triangles, simply use a knife or pizza cutter to divide it evenly.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar and fragrant ground cinnamon until well combined. If you're adding a pinch of nutmeg or vanilla extract for that extra touch, stir it in now.
  • Next, lightly brush each crescent roll triangle with the melted butter, making sure every inch gets a nice, even coat.
  • Generously sprinkle your delightful cinnamon sugar mixture over the buttered dough. Don't be shy!
  • Starting from the wide end of each triangle, carefully roll it up towards the pointy tip, forming that iconic crescent shape.
  • Arrange your beautifully rolled crescents on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. This helps prevent sticking and makes cleanup super easy!
  • Pop the baking sheet into your preheated oven and bake for about 10-12 minutes. Keep a close eye on them; they're ready when they're puffed up, wonderfully golden brown, and smell absolutely irresistible. The sugar can caramelize quickly, so make sure they don't over-bake!
