Equipment

  • 9x9-inch Baking Dish
  • Skillet

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground Beef 450g
  • 1 medium Medium Onion diced
  • 2 cloves Garlic Cloves minced
  • 1 packet Taco Seasoning or homemade
  • 0.5 cup Sour Cream
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • 0.5 cup Diced Tomatoes drained
  • 0.5 cup Sliced Black Olives optional
  • 0.5 cup Green Onions chopped
  • 0.5 cup Bell Pepper diced
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 0.25 cup Chopped Cilantro optional

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking dish with olive oil or cooking spray.
  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and minced garlic, sautéing for 2-3 minutes until fragrant. Add ground beef, cooking until browned and fully cooked, draining excess fat if necessary.
  • Mix in taco seasoning and 1/4 cup water, letting it simmer for 2-3 minutes until well combined.
  • Spread the beef mixture evenly in the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  • Spoon sour cream over the beef layer and spread it gently. Top with diced tomatoes, bell peppers, black olives (if using), and green onions.
  • Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the casserole.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh cilantro if desired, and serve hot.
