Melt 1/2 cup of butter and mix with graham cracker crumbs until moistened. Press this mixture into the bottom of a 9x13" pan.
Using an electric mixer, combine the remaining butter, cream cheese, confectioners' sugar, and salt. Beat until fluffy, about 3 to 4 minutes, then spread over the crust.
Slice the bananas and layer them over the cream cheese mixture, followed by the crushed pineapple. Top with Cool Whip, sprinkle with pecans, and add cherries on top.
Cover and chill for at least 2 to 3 hours, or overnight, before serving.
