Equipment

  • Large Pan
  • Spacious bowl

Ingredients

  • lean ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning about 1 ounce
  • water
  • crisp iceberg lettuce chopped
  • red bell pepper chopped
  • green bell pepper chopped
  • sliced black olives
  • 15 ounces canned pinto beans rinsed and drained
  • diced fresh tomatoes
  • sliced green onions
  • shredded cheddar cheese
  • 10 ounces Nacho flavored Doritos
  • 16 ounces Catalina salad dressing
  • sour cream for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • In a large pan, brown the lean ground beef until it's fully cooked and no longer pink. Make sure to drain any excess fat thoroughly for a healthier meal.
  • Stir in the taco seasoning packet and the water with the cooked beef. Let it simmer gently for about 5 minutes until the sauce thickens nicely. Set it aside to cool slightly.
  • Grab a spacious bowl. Combine the fresh chopped lettuce, colorful red and green bell peppers, sliced black olives, rinsed pinto beans, diced tomatoes, and sliced green onions.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the salad greens. Then, spoon the seasoned and slightly cooled ground beef mixture on top.
  • Lightly crush the Doritos and scatter them over the salad. Drizzle generously with Catalina dressing.
  • Toss everything together gently to ensure all ingredients are coated with the dressing. Garnish with a dollop of sour cream and extra green onions if you like. Serve immediately to enjoy the ultimate fresh crunch!
