- 6 ounces strawberry gelatin mix 2 standard 3-ounce packages
- 3/4 cup boiling water
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 24 ounces light whipped topping thawed (like Cool Whip, 3 standard 8-ounce containers)
- 16 ounces frozen sliced strawberries
- 1 prepared angel food cake store-bought or homemade

In a small bowl, whisk together the strawberry gelatin mix, boiling water, and lemon juice until the gelatin is completely dissolved. Set aside to cool slightly.
Grab a large mixing bowl. Gently fold in two containers (16 ounces) of the thawed whipped topping with the frozen sliced strawberries and the prepared gelatin mixture until just combined.
Tear or cut the angel food cake into bite-sized pieces. Carefully fold these cake pieces into the strawberry-whipped topping mixture until evenly distributed.
Pour and spread the mixture evenly into a 9x13-inch baking dish. Smooth the remaining container (8 ounces) of whipped topping over the top. Cover the dish and chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, or ideally overnight, to let the flavors meld and the cake soak up the deliciousness.
