Ingredients
  

  • 1 10-ounce jar maraschino cherries with stems
  • 0.5 cup vanilla-flavored vodka
  • 3 ounces vanilla candy coating (almond bark) chopped
  • 1 tablespoon green crystallized sugar
  • 1 tablespoon holiday nonpareils

Instructions
 

  • Begin by draining the maraschino cherries, discarding the cherry juice. Place the cherries back into their original jar. Gently pour the vanilla vodka over the cherries, ensuring they are well-covered. Secure the lid and let them chill in the refrigerator for 12 to 24 hours to infuse with flavor.
  • Once infused, line a large cookie sheet with cooking parchment paper for easy cleanup. Carefully drain the cherries, setting aside the vodka for a festive cocktail later, or discard. Use paper towels to gently pat each cherry completely dry; this step is key for the candy coating to adhere beautifully.
  • In a medium microwave-safe bowl, melt the chopped vanilla candy coating. Microwave on high for 45 to 60 seconds, stirring until it's wonderfully smooth and creamy. Holding each dried cherry by its stem, dip the bottom half into the melted coating, then immediately into the green crystallized sugar (or holiday nonpareils for extra sparkle!). Place them on your prepared cookie sheet. Allow them to set for about 10 minutes until the coating is firm.
