Ingredients

Rolls

  • 1 package Hawaiian Sweet Rolls

Filling

  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 0.67 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • salt Pinch

Cream Cheese Frosting

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter softened
  • 4 ounces plain cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Gently slice the top layer off your Hawaiian sweet rolls, making sure the bottom sheet stays intact and connected.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the ½ cup of softened butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and that tiny pinch of salt until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
  • Spread about two-thirds of this delicious cinnamon-sugar filling evenly over the inside of the rolls, ensuring it reaches all the edges. Then, carefully place the top section of the rolls back into position.
  • Drizzle or spread the remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture over the top of the rolls, giving them a lovely, golden glaze.
  • Pop them into a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) and bake for about 25 minutes, or until the tops are beautifully golden brown and the filling is bubbly and gooey.
  • While your rolls are baking, it's time to whip up the dreamy frosting! In another bowl, combine the 2 tablespoons of softened butter, cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Use a hand mixer or stand mixer to beat until the frosting is smooth, light, and wonderfully creamy.
  • Once the rolls are out of the oven and still warm, generously spread or drizzle the homemade frosting over them. Serve immediately for a truly delightful summer treat!
