Equipment

  • 8x8 inch square baking pan
  • Parchment Paper
  • Medium Bowl
  • Wire Rack
  • Sharp Knife

Ingredients

  • 1 cup gluten-free graham cracker crumbs
  • 0.25 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 1.5 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk (14 ounces)

Instructions

  • Prepare Your Pan: First, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8 inch square baking pan with parchment paper, leaving a slight overhang on the sides. This makes lifting out your delicious bars super easy!
  • Craft the Healthy Base: In a medium bowl, combine the gluten-free graham cracker crumbs with the melted butter. Press this mixture firmly and evenly into the bottom of your prepared pan to create a sturdy, wholesome crust.
  • Layer Up the Goodness: Now for the fun part! Sprinkle the chopped walnuts evenly over the graham cracker crust. Follow with a generous layer of shredded coconut, spreading it across the pan. Finally, scatter the semi-sweet chocolate chips over the coconut.
  • Drizzle the Sweet Magic: Carefully pour the entire can of sweetened condensed milk over all the layered ingredients, making sure to cover the entire surface. This golden drizzle is what binds everything together into a chewy, delightful treat.
  • Bake to Perfection: Gently place your pan into the preheated oven and bake for 27-30 minutes. You'll know they're ready when the edges are beautifully golden brown and the center is lightly bubbly. Let the bars cool completely in the pan on a wire rack – this is crucial for neat slicing!
  • Slice & Enjoy: Once fully cooled, use the parchment paper overhang to lift the entire bar slab out of the pan. Place it on a cutting board and slice into 16 squares or bars using a sharp knife. Get ready to enjoy your easy, healthy-ish, and truly magical summer treat!
