Equipment

  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment Paper
  • Medium Bowl
  • Stand Mixer (optional)
  • Heart-shaped cookie cutter
  • Microwave-safe Bowl
  • Fork

Ingredients

  • 24 Reduced-Fat Oreo cookies crushed into fine crumbs
  • 5 ounces light or Neufchâtel cream cheese softened
  • 12-14 ounces sugar-free white chocolate candy coating or vanilla almond bark
  • Heart-shaped sprinkles optional, for a festive touch

Instructions

  • Prep Your Area: Start by lining a baking sheet with parchment paper. This simple step makes cleanup a breeze!
  • Mix the Base: In a medium bowl, combine the finely crushed Reduced-Fat Oreo crumbs with the softened light cream cheese. You can mix by hand, press with the back of a spoon, or use a stand mixer until everything is evenly combined into a thick, moldable dough.
  • Spread and Chill: Transfer the truffle mixture onto your prepared baking sheet. Spread it out into an even layer, about 1/2 inch thick. Place the tray into the freezer for at least 45 minutes, allowing it to firm up perfectly for cutting.
  • Shape Your Hearts: Once firm, grab your favorite heart-shaped cookie cutter and gently cut out the truffle shapes. Carefully place these adorable hearts onto another parchment-lined tray and pop them back into the freezer for an additional 20-30 minutes. They need to be very cold for the best dipping results!
  • Melt the Chocolate: While your hearts are chilling, it's time to melt the sugar-free white chocolate coating. You can do this easily in a microwave-safe bowl, heating in short 30-second bursts and stirring well after each, until smooth and creamy.
  • Dip and Decorate: Take out a few frozen hearts at a time (keep the rest in the freezer to prevent softening). Using a fork, carefully dip each heart into the melted white chocolate, letting any extra drip off. Place the coated hearts back on the parchment paper. If you're using sprinkles, add them right away before the chocolate sets. For an extra rich coating, you can briefly freeze the first dipped layer and then dip them again!
  • Set and Store: Once all your truffles are dipped and beautifully decorated, return them to the fridge or freezer until the chocolate is completely firm. Store your delightful Valentine's truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator to keep them fresh. Enjoy your healthy and easy homemade treat!
