Ingredients
Cookies
- 1 box chocolate cake mix (13.25 oz)
- 2 large eggs
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
Frosting
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- 3 tbsp milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix chocolate cake mix, eggs, and vegetable oil until a thick dough forms.
- Scoop dough balls onto the baking sheet, leaving 2 inches between them.
- Bake for 8–10 minutes until edges are set but centers remain soft.
- Melt butter in a saucepan. Whisk in cocoa powder and milk until smooth.
- Add vanilla extract and powdered sugar and mix until smooth frosting forms.
- Spoon warm frosting over warm cookies.
- Transfer cookies to a wire rack and let frosting set.
Notes
Don't overbake the cookies. Adjust frosting consistency with milk or powdered sugar if needed.
