Equipment

  • Small Saucepan
  • Food Processor
  • Freezer-safe container

Ingredients

Simple Syrup

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water

Sorbet

  • 16 ounces frozen mango chunks
  • 1/4 cup cooled simple syrup use 1/4 to 1/3 cup, from simple syrup preparation
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice

Garnish (optional)

  • Fresh mint sprigs optional, for garnish
  • Fresh raspberries optional, for garnish

Instructions

  • 1. Make the Simple Syrup: Combine the granulated sugar and water in a small saucepan. Gently heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar completely dissolves into the water. Once dissolved, remove the pan from the heat and let the syrup cool down entirely. (You won't need all of it for the sorbet, so you can save any extra for other refreshing drinks!)
  • 2. Blend Your Sorbet: In a food processor, combine the frozen mango chunks, about ΒΌ cup of the cooled simple syrup, and the fresh lime juice. Blend for approximately 3 minutes, or until the mixture is wonderfully smooth and creamy. Don't forget to scrape down the sides of the food processor a couple of times to ensure everything is well combined.
  • 3. Serve or Chill: You can enjoy this vibrant sorbet immediately for a softer texture. If you prefer it a bit firmer, transfer the sorbet to a shallow, freezer-safe container. Cover it tightly with plastic wrap directly on the surface and then with a lid. Freeze for about 30 minutes to an hour.
  • 4. Garnish & Enjoy: Scoop your homemade mango sorbet into bowls or glasses. For an extra touch of freshness and color, garnish with a few fresh mint sprigs and some raspberries, if you like!
