Pizza Cutter
- 1 tube reduced-fat crescent dough 8-ounce
- 1/4 cup light pizza sauce
- 1 cup part-skim shredded mozzarella
- 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 4 ounces lean pepperoni slices halved
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly mist a standard muffin tin with cooking spray.
Gently unroll the crescent dough onto a lightly floured surface. Separate it into four rectangles. If there are any perforations, simply pinch them together to seal firmly.
Using a pizza cutter, slice each dough rectangle lengthwise into three strips, about 1-inch wide each. Spread a very thin, even layer of pizza sauce over each strip. Sprinkle with both mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses. Now, carefully arrange the halved pepperoni slices along the top half of each dough strip, slightly overlapping them and letting the top edge of the pepperoni peek over the dough.
Fold the bottom half of the dough strip up over the pepperoni and cheese. Starting from one end, tightly roll each strip into a rose shape.
Place each pizza rose into a section of your prepared muffin tin. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes, or until they're beautifully golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
Let them cool slightly before serving warm to your loved one!
These Pizza Blooms are a delightful and romantic treat for Valentine's Day. They are easy to make and wonderful to share!
