Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Give the air fryer basket a light spray with olive oil to prevent sticking.
Season the chicken legs generously all over with salt and pepper.
Place the seasoned chicken legs in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Make sure not to overcrowd them so they can cook evenly and get nice and crispy.
Cook for 22-25 minutes. They are perfectly done when the skin is deliciously crispy and an internal meat thermometer reads 160°F (71°C) in the thickest part of the leg.
Once cooked, carefully remove the chicken legs and brush them generously with your favorite BBQ sauce. Serve immediately and enjoy your perfectly cooked, healthy chicken!
