Ingredients
  

  • 2 lbs lean ground turkey
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese divided
  • 1 tablespoon dried minced onion
  • 1 teaspoon dried minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 oz sugar-free BBQ sauce divided
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup cooked, chopped bacon (about 5 slices)

Instructions
 

  • Get Ready to Bake! Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch casserole dish to prevent sticking.
  • Mix it Up! In a large bowl, gently combine the ground turkey, 1/2 cup of the shredded cheddar cheese, dried minced onion, dried minced garlic, garlic powder, chili powder, ground mustard, salt, 1 oz of the sugar-free BBQ sauce, and the egg. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix the meat.
  • Shape and Top! Press the meat mixture evenly into the bottom of your prepared casserole dish. Brush the remaining 1 oz of sugar-free BBQ sauce over the top for extra flavor, then sprinkle with the remaining 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese and the chopped bacon.
  • Bake to Perfection! Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C) is reached with a meat thermometer. Let it rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving!
