Ingredients
  

  • 4 red Gala apples
  • 1 1/8 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon red food coloring

Instructions
 

  • Begin by removing the wax from each apple by dipping in hot water and rubbing with a towel.
  • Insert sticks into the apples where the stems were, securing firmly.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spray lightly with oil.
  • Combine water, sugar, corn syrup, and food coloring in a medium pot over medium heat.
  • Bring the mixture to 300-310°F without stirring.
  • Quickly dip each apple into the hot candy mixture, letting excess drip off.
  • Place dipped apples on the prepared tray and let harden completely.
