- 4 red Gala apples
- 1 1/8 cups granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup water
- 1/4 cup light corn syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon red food coloring
Begin by removing the wax from each apple by dipping in hot water and rubbing with a towel.
Insert sticks into the apples where the stems were, securing firmly.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spray lightly with oil.
Combine water, sugar, corn syrup, and food coloring in a medium pot over medium heat.
Bring the mixture to 300-310°F without stirring.
Quickly dip each apple into the hot candy mixture, letting excess drip off.
Place dipped apples on the prepared tray and let harden completely.
